The Transport Well Charitable Trust (Transport Well) has received its first grant funding, marking an important milestone in delivering industry-led workforce initiatives to New Zealand’s commercial transport sector.

The funding, from Inspiring Futures Foundation, will support the development and pilot delivery of the Commercial Transport Employer Hub Programme.

The pilot programme will be trialled across Canterbury and South Canterbury, as a way of strengthening connections between transport employers, schools, training providers, and communities. Following the pilot phase, the programme is expected to be rolled out nationwide.

Focused on building strong career pathways into the transport industry, the programme supports employers attract and retain skilled people, whilst strengthening access to training and qualifications.

This first grant represents confidence in industry-led workforce development and supports the Trust’s goal of helping the transport sector adapt and thrive in a modern, ever changing workplace environment.
