Mainstream Acquires PBT

Mainstream New Zealand have signed an agreement to acquire the transport, containers, and logistics operations of PBT, a highly respected freight operator who has been a staple of the freight market for over 50 years.

‍This move is as much about strategic positioning, as it is about securing a more certain future for staff, contractors, and the customers of PBT the company says.

‘We’ve had a lot of respect for PBT over the years. Like us, they’ve built their business from the ground up with hands-on freight people who, with a commitment to service, having grown into a top-tier nationwide network. There are plenty of similarities in how we both operate, which gives us real confidence that bringing the two businesses together will be a relatively smooth integration.’

Customers can expect continuity in service, relationships, and support, with no immediate changes to account contacts or services. Integration is already underway and is expected to be complete by September.
