Two years ago, the New Zealand Trucking Association launched the HARMfree Transport & Logistics Program to lift health, safety, and wellbeing standards across the sector. After a year of development, collaboration, and peer review, the program went live, and it has since become one of the most practical and accessible resources available to operators. HARMfree is offered entirely free of charge and demonstrates that when resources are clear, relevant, and practical, operators not only pay attention, but they take meaningful action.

Before the HARMfree launch, health and safety resources were scattered across the web over multiple agency websites,. Theser resources were found to be often outdated or difficult to find. Bringing everything together into one place made it easier for everyone to access and operators are reporting major benefits which is allowing them to flow through more easily into workplace culture, worker support, and stronger work systems.
Initially supported by ACC funding, the HARMfree support has now ended. To secure the future of HARMfree, NZ Trucking Association has gifted all HARMfree’s resources and intellectual property to the Transport Well Charitable Trust, ensuring it remains industry-led, free, and accessible to everyone.
