Alexander Group makes the move to Electric with Volvo Trucks
Alexander Group Ltd, in partnership with Volvo Trucks New Zealand, has expanded its transport fleet to include their first electric truck, a Volvo FL Electric.
“This was a logical step for us and the right application for the electric truck technology. Partnering with Volvo was an easy decision, their proven reliability and advanced technology made them the right partner for this important step,” said Hayley Alexander CEO Alexander Group.
Alexander Group is a major transporter of bulk gases across New Zealand. CEO Hayley Alexander explained the decision in choosing of the Volvo FL Electric.

This 4x2 rigid electric truck will be delivering and collecting compressed gas cylinders in the Christchurch metropolitan area for Air Liquide New Zealand Limited. With 265kw (300hp) and a 280km range on a single charge (based on the planned delivery schedule and route optimisation plan). The unit has a custom-built Fruehauf gas bottle truck body with a 1,500 kg tail lift.
